Alan Heller founded Walk & Talk (with his wife Pauly) in 1990 to help connect people with God and each other.
Alan and Pauly met each other in college, after which they joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ’s (CRU) Athletes in Action Gymnastics Team in 1974. They married a year later.
Alan became a biblical counselor in 1981, and was an associate pastor at Living Streams Church in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1993 to 2000. He received his M.A. degree in Counseling and Family from Phoenix Seminary.
He is an author, life and marriage coach, and an entertaining speaker. Alan facilitates life-changing small-group communication workshops and marriage enrichment seminars for couples.
For more than 35 years I have been a biblical counselor, helping leaders with their marriages to regain health, and working with local churches and other ministries. My wife and I have co-authored 2 books and written resources to enrich marriages. I have seen and helped a wide spectrum of people and organizations—from healthy to dysfunctional.
We have endured traumatic challenges. Most significantly, the death of our oldest son, Josh, from colorectal cancer, in 2010.
I understand more deeply than ever what it means to be shocked, depressed, and totally overwhelmed. How do you move forward? How do you grieve great loss? How do you get out from under the cloud and see “blue sky” again? By God’s grace, and the wisdom and help of God’s people, I’ve returned to a life of fruitfulness and balance. God has been faithful.
